Simon Meyers

15 th May 1950 - 4 th October 2025

Dorchester Rugby Football Club have to sadly announce the death of one of its greatest
servants, Simon Meyers, who died at the Joeseph Weld Hospice on Saturday 4 th October
2025.

Simon was a very talented player and an absolute gentleman who always had time for
others.

He was also a very skilled administrator and negotiator, which was very ably demonstrated
when as the Club Secretary in the late 1990’s, together with the then Club Chairman, Nigel
Jones, he successfully negotiated the move from our previous Headquarters in Weymouth
Avenue, now the site of the Tesco Supermarket, to our current fantastic clubhouse and
grounds in Coburg Road.

The club sends its heartfelt condolences to Simon’s wife, Liz and all his family and friends on
this very sad occasion, our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
