At the club’s first home fixture in September, a 27-0 friendly win for Dorchester A over Poole, a newly-installed electronic scoreboard was unveiled and used for the first time.
Generously funded by long-term supporter former player and vice-president John Sherry, well-known for his business Autobitz, this new scoreboard will enhance the Dorchester’s ability to host representative and academy games and further highlights the continued growth of the community club.
Club chairman Tony Foot and president Bob Andrews both thanked him for his generosity and continued support of the club and looked forward to it recording many wins this season.
With two senior teams playing in leagues, a successful Colts team, 300 junior players from under-sixes to under-16s and growing ladies and girls sections, the club is ever-growing and being used as a community asset with its clubhouse facilities by a number of organisations utilising the space available for their varied requirements.
Any new or returning players keen to join the club can contact Tony O’Connell on 07813 968407 or visit the clubhouse on Tuesdays and Thursdays when the senior teams train from 6.45pm.
Dorchester have no fixture this weekend but return to action next Saturday away to Swanage & Wareham at Bestwall in the Counties One Tribute Southern South.
